Lillian was born and raised in Shenandoah County, where she met her husband R. Keith Richards and married him in 1970. Her husband has been an attorney in Shenandoah County since 1977. Once he began processing real estate transactions, he found there was a need for a local title insurance agency. Therefore, Lillian was the first title insurance agent in Shenandoah County and has been underwriting title insurance since 1985.

Melanie was born and raised in Shenandoah County. Her Mom, Lillian is a Title Insurance Agent and her Dad, R. Keith Richards, is a real estate attorney. Therefore, Melanie has been around the real estate industry all of her life. She worked part time at her Dad's law firm from 1990 until she began working there full time in the legal/real estate industry in 1999. She began processing real estate closings in 2001 at the Law Office of R. Keith Richards. In 2008, Melanie became a licensed title insurance agent in the State of Virginia. In 2019, she began working for Woodstock Title Corp. underwriting title insurance and as the Manager of the Company.
